Transgender Netflix employees and their allies gathered Wednesday morning on Vine Street in Los Angeles to protest the streaming giant’s decision to release Dave Chappelle’s controversial new comedy special. Some of the comedian’s supporters showed up too.

A federal judge in Texas on Friday blocked the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's new rule for an $8 cap on credit card late fees, a victory for business and banking groups that said the regulator exceeded its authority. U.S. District Judge Mark Pittman in Fort Worth issued a preliminary injunction against the rule, which was scheduled to take effect on May 14. The injunction was urged by groups including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the American Bankers Association.
Louisiana’s Supreme Court agreed Friday to reconsider its recent ruling that wiped out a state law giving adult victims of childhood sexual abuse a renewed opportunity to file damage lawsuits. The law was passed by the Louisiana Legislature in 2021 and amended in 2022. At the time, its chief sponsor, Rep.
