1. A suspect -- but no arrest -- in Shanquella Robsinson’s case: What may happen next
The case around Shanquella Robinson’s death continues to develop.
An arrest warrant’s been issued for a suspect in the case. But in the nearly two weeks since news of the warrant broke, there’s been no confirmation of an arrest.
The legal and political issues surrounding the case leave a lot up in the air and it is unclear how officials in the U.S. will proceed. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the process is typically a very long one — particularly the phase of surrender or extradition, if granted.

2. Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is opening another Charlotte location -- with free scoops
Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream is expanding in the Charlotte area.
Already a staple for sweet tooths, Jeni’s will open a new location in Blakeney Town Center, just south of Ballantyne.
More importantly, you can get free scoops of ice cream all night long at the grand opening next month.

3. Person in custody after rock with hate speech thrown in Charlotte daycare window
An update on a story from yesterday.
A 36-year-old Charlotte man is in custody after police say he threw a rock containing hate speech through the window of a daycare and shot a park ranger.
No one was injured at the daycare and police refused to share what was written in the message during a news conference but said the hate speech was directed towards children.

4. Fast-casual seafood restaurant makes a splash in South End with its second NC store
A new seafood spot swims into South End.
Brown Bag Seafood Co., a Chicago-based restaurant, opened yesterday at 100 W. Worthingon Ave. on the ground floor of Lowe’s Tech Hub. The fast-casual, counter-service restaurant menu includes such fare as grilled salmon, shrimp or a rotating daily catch, plus chicken, vegetarian and vegan options.
In August, the rapidly expanding chain made its North Carolina debut, opening at Birkdale Village in Huntersville.
