People think this is why RuPaul just deleted all his social media

There was something very odd happening on RuPaul's Instagram account late last night. Fans began to notice posts disappearing one by one, until eventually he had emptied his entire Instagram of posts. Next he turned to Twitter, but this time he deleted the whole account. This may be because there's no Twitter approved way of bulk deleting tweets so it may have been easier to simply delete the whole account, but either way people are pretty suspicious of it all.

Of course, the theories surrounding the reasons for the decision came in thick and fast. Some people speculated he is preparing for a big announcement of some kind, others thought it was a hack, while others theorised it could be RuPaul trying to avoid public backlash after he admitted in May to leasing the land on his Wyoming ranch to major fracking companies (which did not go down hugely well with people on Twitter).

Meanwhile some felt it was odd timing that RuPaul deleted his social media on the same day that Canada's Drag Race premiered

It should be noted that RuPaul has been on a three month social media hiatus, so it's hard to know if any of the fan theories are the reason behind the decision. RuPaul's team has yet to comment on the matter, and RuPaul is still currently appearing weekly on series five on RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars.

Other fans were also quick to notice that RuPaul's Drag Race season 10 contestant, Kameron Michaels, has also wiped his entire Instagram.

Of course, all the speculation about why RuPaul deleted his social media will not be overshadowed by people enjoying the meme potential, and there has been some great work done here...

Who knows if and when we'll find out what's going on...
