We spent so much time fawning over Angelina Jolie at The Eternals' various premieres that we almost forgot entirely about the film itself. But, luckily some fans were far more on the ball and have already started critiquing the new instalment in the Marvel franchise. However, this time, people aren't loving The Eternals quite as much as you'd expect, with many fans sharing the exact same complaint.

The film, the 26th in the Marvel Universe, follows the Eternals, an immortal alien race who have been reunited to protect humankind from their evil counterparts, the Deviants. The film has been praised for modernising the genre, with a more diverse cast and Marvel's first gay superhero. Plus, it features a long list of big name stars from Angelina Jolie and Gemma Chan to Salma Hayek and Richard Madden.

However, despite sounding like the perfect addition to the Marvel cinematic universe, the film has gradually racked up a rating of 65% on Rotten Tomatoes, making it the worst rated film in the franchise. With many of the reviews agreeing that the film doesn't quite hit the mark, and that the plot is convoluted and storyline not strong enough.

However, the issue has divided fans on Twitter with many of them saying that the film is being criticised for offering a new take on a typical Marvel film. Additionally, fans are calling out reviewers on IMDb after spotting that some of the negative comments about The Eternals seemed to be as a result of the gay kiss included in the film.

Anyone else just even more excited to see it now?
