Passengers Wait in Long Queues in Frankfurt Airport

Passengers waited hours in long queues in Frankfurt Airport in Germany on Friday and Saturday, July 1 and 2, amid reports of ongoing delays at airports across Europe, the UK and the US.

Luggage piled up at the airport on Friday, while passengers complained of cancelled flights and long queues.

Twitter user @gokhan_ozyurek told Storyful he was queuing for eight hours between Friday and Saturday and had missed his connecting flight in Frankfurt. He posted video of the long queues and said people were " tired and angry."

Frankfurt Airport said on Saturday morning that “due to high passenger numbers,” passengers were experiencing disruptions and longer wait times. It said passengers on their return journey to the airport “may experience significant wait times, particularly at the baggage claim area.” Credit: @gokhan_ozyurek via Storyful
