Park Fountain Freezes Over as Arctic Blast Hits New York

The fountain at a New York park froze as Arctic temperatures gripped the city on Saturday, February 4, with the National Weather Service (NWS) forecasting wind chill as cold as -40°F (-40°C) in some areas.

This footage was recorded by New York resident Kelly Kopp, who called the frozen fountain at the city’s Bryant Park “beautiful”.

The NWS issued a wind chill warning for the area until midday Saturday. Sub zero wind chills were down to around 5 to 10°F below zero into the evening, the NWS said.
