Marc Menchaca, known for his roles in Ozark and Black Mirror, is the latest actor to be cast in Gareth Edwards' new sci-fi film True Love.

According to Deadline, he will join the movie alongside an all-star cast including Eternals' Gemma Chan, John David Washington (Tenet), Allison Janney (The West Wing), Benedict Wong (Doctor Strange) and Sturgill Simpson.

Simpson's role in the film was originally meant to be played by actor and comedian Danny McBride (Alien: Covenant), who stepped down due to scheduling conflicts.

The movie, written and directed by Rogue One's Gareth Edwards, will be produced in collaboration with Kiri Hart (Luca) under New Regency Productions.

The contents of True Love's plot are largely still under wraps, but we do know that it's a sci-set in the near future and the title implies a romantic angle. Cinematographer Greig Fraser, who worked with Edwards on Rogue One, has also joined the crew.

"Joined by an incredible bunch of people with an even more incredible script. Can't wait for you all to see what magic we're cooking up," he concluded.

Fraser also tagged Oren Soffer, who will join him as director of photography. Fraser most recently worked on the sci-fi hit Dune, which adapted Frank Herbert's first book in the series.
