“Metal” is for pizza pans and pizza cutters, not actual pizza, which is why Home Run Inn recalled 13,099 pounds — or about 6,256 pizzas — of its Chicago Premium Pizzeria Deluxe Sausage Classic Pizza.
The Woodbridge, Illinois, company made the not-food-in-your-food recall after it “received consumer complaints reporting metal was found in the pizza,” according to a USDA recall notice.
This covers the Deluxe Sausage Classic variety with a best by date of 12/3/2022 and “EST. 18498-A” inside the USDA mark of inspection.
If you have this pizza in your freezer, return it to the store for a full refund. Or, throw it in the garbage.
If you have questions about this recall, reach out to Home Run Inn Frozen Foods Chief Operating Officer Nick Perrino at 630-783-9696, ext. 2151.
