Outages in Silver Spring After Damaging Storm Takes Out Power Lines

Severe thunderstorms packing strong winds wrought havoc and closed roads in Montgomery County, Maryland, on Thursday afternoon, July 29.

Video shared on Twitter by Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson Pete Piringer shows damage done in Silver Spring, where a large tree branch had fallen onto power lines and caused an outage. The road was closed as a result of the damage.
