Considering how many Academy Awards Everything Everywhere All at Once won, it was only a matter of time before its celebrated cast reunited for what will likely be another captivating and heartrending epic. The 2006 graphic novel "American Born Chinese" is getting a TV adaptation on Disney Plus and will serve as a mini-reunion for much of the main Everything Everywhere All at Once cast.

Where can you watch American Born Chinese?

American Born Chinese is available exclusively through Disney+. The streaming service is available via an internet connection if you live in Australia, Austria, Canada, the Channel Islands, France, Germany, India, Ireland, the Isle of Man, Italy, Monaco, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Spain, Switzerland or the United Kingdom—and the U.S. Disney’s direct-to-consumer streaming platform can be accessed from desktop browsers, mobile devices, game consoles and more.

There's plenty more to watch on Disney+ after you've watched American Born Chinese. For one, you can watch Pixar movies and shorts, including the immensely popular Turning Red. There are also classic episodes of The Simpsons, nature documentaries produced by National Geographic and almost a century worth of Disney films and TV shows.

What is American Born Chinese about?

American Born Chinese is a television adaptation of the award-winning graphic novel of the same name by Gen Luen Yang. The story follows plucky teen Jin Wang (played by Ben Wang), who like many his age is struggling in school and at home. After meeting a foreign exchange student, Wang soon becomes intertwined in a world-upending battle between gods of Chinese mythology.

This new series features a predominantly Asian cast, including many of the stars from Everything Everywhere All at Once. Michelle Yeoh will receive top billing as Guanyin, the goddess of mercy. The show will also feature Ke Huey Quan, Stephanie Hsu and James Hong in supporting roles. The show will be directed by Lucy Liu, and Destin Daniel Cretton of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings fame.

How do you sign up for Disney+?

To stream American Born Chinese, you can sign up for Disney+ for $7.99. This basic plan does come with a few ads. If you want to go totally ad-free, it will run you $10.99 a month.
