This Oscar has been touched by 1 million people around the world

In 1989, screenwriter Barry Morrow won an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for ‘Rain Man.’ But instead of keeping the award to himself, he decided to donate it to his friend Kim Peek, the inspiration behind Dustin Hoffman's character in the film. The award, and the speaking engagements that followed, vastly improved Peek's social skills and confidence - and later raised autism awareness around the world.
