Olivia Rodrigo gives out free condoms and contraceptive pills at her Missouri concert for the “Guts” World Tour

The gutsy pop star is donating a portion of her tour proceeds towards reproductive rights organizations across America.

Olivia Rodrigo made a bold statement in favor of reproductive rights by giving out free morning-after pills and condoms at the latest stop on her Guts World Tour.

Concertgoers who attended her March 12 show in St. Louis, Mo., were invited to snag a Guts-branded package that included two boxes of Julie — an emergency contraceptive that can prevent pregnancy when taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex — along with information on how to access abortion care resources in the state.

A card included with the package read, "Funding abortion? It's a good idea right?" and provided a QR code for fans to donate to the state's abortion fund. The info, Morning-after pills, and condoms were available at booths hosted by the Missouri Abortion Fund and Text Right By You, a youth-focused hotline providing reproductive rights resources.

Rodrigo’s advocacy comes as 21 states, Missouri included, have taken steps to outright ban or severely restrict abortion access. Fans quickly took to social media to thank the popstar for her efforts, with one writing, “To have the new generation of mainstream pop girls be this brave and this willing to be 100% clear about an issue that is SO polarizing… I have tears in my eyes it’s awesome to see.” Another commented on her boldness, adding, “She wasn't playing when she named her album ‘guts.’”

Even the Missouri Abortion Fund chimed in with a Rodrigo reference, telling fans: “It’s brutal out here in Missouri, but we are here for abortion access.”

In February, the 21-year-old singer kicked off her tour by launching the Fund 4 Good (a play on her single “Good 4 U”) which will funnel a portion of her Guts Tour proceeds toward reproductive rights organizations such as the National Network of Abortion Funds in North America. She confirmed on Instagram that for the St. Louis concert, Text Right By You and the Missouri Abortion Fund will be the benefitting orgs.

Rodrigo has long been vocal about her support for women’s healthcare and didn’t hesitate to express her rage onstage after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, the landmark 1973 case that protected a woman’s choice to have an abortion.

At the Glastonbury Festival in 2022, when she invited Lily Allen onstage to sing a scorching rendition of her hit song, "F--- You." Rodrigo dedicated the song to the Justices who had a hand in the decision.

"I'm devastated and terrified that so many women and so many girls are going to die because of this,” she said at the time. “I wanted to dedicate this next song to the five members of the Supreme Court who have showed us that at the end of the day, they truly don't give a s--- about freedom."

Once the calf is born, Shanti and her newborn will undergo post-natal exams and bond as mother and child before joining the rest of the herd.
