Bank of America has been fined $24 million after two former traders placed phony "spoof" trades to try to influence the market for U.S. Treasuries, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority said on Thursday. FINRA said a junior trader and his supervisor at BofA Securities conducted 717 spoof trades between October 2014 and February 2021. The junior trader, Tyler Forbes, was accused of placing 194 spoof trades before Bank of America fired him in 2019.
