Officials Close Southern Nebraska Roadway for Epic Cattle Crossing

Two roads were closed in Chase County, Nebraska, on Tuesday, January 31, as a herd of cattle so large it extended to the horizon crossed a highway, according to local officials.

Video posted by the Chase County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday shows the huge group of cattle trudging along at the intersection of Highway 61 and 727 Road. The moos of the cows are heard in the footage.

The sheriff’s office warned drivers to “be prepared for a delay,” saying it was “one of the largest [herds] we’ve done.” Credit: Chase County Sheriff’s Office via Storyful
