NOAA Satellite Imagery Shows Wildfire Activity in Western US

Imagery captured by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) satellites GOESEast and GOES-17 shows wildfire activity and smoke dispersal over the western United States on July 22 and 25.

The view from GOESEast shows the Dixie fire burning in California on July 22. As of Monday, July 26, the Dixie fire had spread to 197,487 acres (about 309 square miles) and was 22 percent contained, according to InciWeb.
