Yahoo Movies Nintendo Switch launches new cross-party Minecraft
Exciting news, Minecraft fans – Nintendo Switch's version of the game is now compatible with other versions.
After launching last year on the Nintendo console, players could only interact with other Switch users, but now it supports cross-play.
Minecraft's Better Together update now includes Switch, which means players can interact with those playing on Xbox One, Windows 10, VR and mobile devices. However, PlayStation 4 is not included.

The new version– available online now – was announced on Thursday (June 21), Nintendo even interacted with the Xbox and Minecraft Twitter accounts in some ace social media PR.
"Our bodies are ready. What are we building?" Xbox wrote, joking that it was an "ambitious crossover event", while a trailer from Nintendo also dropped.

This isn't the only pop culture phenomenon to launch on Switch recently, with game-of-the-moment Fortnite launching on the console earlier this month.
Meanwhile, in early June it was announced that Netflix is working on a five-part interactive experience with Telltale based on Minecraft: Story Mode.
"We're delighted by the response we're seeing to the idea of Minecraft: Story Mode coming to Netflix in the fall as an interactive adventure," a Netflix spokesperson said.
In short, there's a lot happening in the world of Minecraft at the moment.
