Nicole Kidman reveals her 'heart is broken' by her mother's death
Nicole Kidman has shared the sad news that her mother Janelle has died.
Kidman won Best Actress for her role in Babygirl at the Venice Film Festival on Saturday (September 7), though she wasn't able to collect the award in person as she had to leave the festival early due to her mother's death.
Babygirl director Halina Reijn received the award on Kidman's behalf with a statement from the actor, which read: "Today, I arrived in Venice to find out shortly after my brave and beautiful mother, Janelle Anne Kidman, had just passed."

The statement continued: "I'm in shock and I have to go to my family, but this award is for her.
"She shaped me, she guided me and she made me. I am beyond grateful that I get to say her name to all of you through Halina. The collision of life and art is heartbreaking. My heart is broken."
Babygirl stars Kidman as a powerful CEO who risks her career and family by pursuing a passionate affair with her much younger intern (played by The Iron Claw's Harris Dickinson).
Despite being well received at the Venice Film Festival, Kidman had some mixed feelings about the screening.

"This definitely leaves me exposed and vulnerable and frightened, and all of those things when it's given to the world," she shared at a press event.
"But making it with these people here, it was delicate and intimate and very, very deep.
"Right now, we're all a bit nervous – so I'm like, I hope my hands aren't shaking – but at the same time, I'm really proud to be at a festival like this, and to be forging ahead with films that are still being made, and particularly with women at the helm."
Elsewhere, Kidman can currently been seen in Netflix's new murder mystery The Perfect Couple, which centres on a wealthy family who falls under suspicion when a body is discovered near their home.
