Nicolas Cage goes searching for his kidnapped pig in new film trailer

Nicolas Cage has had a, let's say, colourful career, having starred in some truly out-there movies, and given some truly out-there performances along the way.

This new film, Pig, definitely falls into the former category, although judging by the trailer we can't decide if its bizarre nature is meant to be a parody, or wholeheartedly in earnest.

So the film stars the Vampire's Kiss and National Treasure: Book of Secrets actor as a possibly-former chef turned possibly-alcoholic truffle hunter living out in the woods with his pig.

Suddenly, the duo are attacked and Nic Cage wakes up to see his porcine friend has gone missing and has to return to the city to find her.

While there, he remembers what his life was like before he became washed-up, meets faces from his past who tell him to abandon his search, and ruminates that restaurant customers never care about the people working there.

Is it all a critique of people who don't tip after their meal? Is the pig even real, or just a metaphor? The tone of this trailer is hard to nail down, so anything is possible at this point.

Whatever it is, there's a chance it could be quite entertaining as Jumanji star Alex Wolff is also starring in it, and he has a habit of picking good projects (M Night Shyamalan's Old is another one he's in that we're very excited for).
