Nicki Minaj is back! Rapper rereleases 'Beam Me Up Scotty' mixtape on streaming services with new songs

Nicki Minaj is back and she's making Fridays a little more pink while "Seeing Green."

After blowing up the internet with a tease Monday, the singer on Friday rereleased her 2009 mixtape "Beam Me Up Scotty" on streaming services and added three new tracks to the original project. Before dropping the new music, the "Itty Bitty Piggy" rapper went on Instagram live to celebrate.

"I knew if I just rereleased the mixtape without putting anything new, I knew y'all would cuss me the (expletive) out," Minaj said.

The mixtape's new adds include "Fractions," a "Crocodile Teeth" remix with Skillibeng and a return to the Young Money team "Seeing Green" which features Lil Wayne and Drake.

"Fractions" brings back Minaj's "bad guy" rapping after what she described as having "writer's block" on Instagram. She spends the duration of song spitting bars without any interruptions of a chorus: "I'm 'bout to give them that traction, send a distraction / Then I'ma line 'em like fractions / Took a brеak, I let 'em live, look it all 'еm eatin' / But these (expletive) gon' be mad once I call this meetin' "

Drake made a surprise appearance on Minaj's announcement and talked about the song "Seeing Green" which the "Scary Hours" rapper sent to Minaj.

"It didn't feel right with you not being on it," Drake told Minaj. "It was fun the other way but it's epic this way."

Minaj also announced that she will have an album on the way.

Earlier this week, Minaj returned to social media after a months-long hiatus hinting that something was coming. "F R I D A Y 🤞🏽" she captioned the post alongside two photos of herself posing in hot pink Crocs, surrounded by Chanel and holding two heart pillows over her body.

Her post had fans hoping for new music and celebrities chimed in.

"LETS GOOOOOO," Kehlani responded to the tweet.

"Missed you sis," wrote Keke Palmer.

The "Super Bass" rapper hasn't released a new album since 2018's "Queen" and her last single was "MEGATRON," which arrived in June of 2019. The rapper's first studio album "Pink Friday" was released in 2010 and went triple platinum.

In September 2019, Minaj shocked fans when she announced she was stepping away from music. "I’ve decided to retire & have my family," she wrote on Twitter.

She later backtracked on her comments in an interview with Billboard.

"I love music and interacting with fans, so I can’t really see taking myself completely away. But I want to be open to other possibilities in my life," she said three months after her initial announcement. "I do believe it is important to become a woman outside of the magnifying glass. I have to make sure that I’m well-rounded as a human being."

The 38-year-old star is growing her family.

On Sept. 30, 2020, she and husband Kenneth Petty welcomed their first child together, a baby boy. The couple has not shared their son's name, but Minaj posted some adorable pics earlier this year.

"Becoming a mom is by far the most fulfilling job I’ve ever taken on," she wrote alongside the photos. "Sending love to all the superhero mothers out there. Big hugs to all the women who have been pregnant during this challenging time."

The new mom announced her pregnancy in July with a series of bikini baby bump photos. "Love. Marriage. Baby carriage. Overflowing with excitement & gratitude," she wrote.

Minaj and Petty tied the knot in October 2019 after nearly a year of dating. Their relationship made waves after Petty's criminal history came to light. Petty is a registered, Level 2 sex offender on New York State’s Sex Offender Registry.
