According to Deadline, the 23-year-old actor, singer and songwriter is circling a role in the upcoming ‘Jumanji’ reboot… which will see Dwayne Johnson heading into the board game.

“Nick Jonas is in talks to join Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart and Jack Black in the Jake Kasdan-directed reimagining of Jumanji that Sony Pictures has set for a July 28, 2017 release.”

Of course, Nick Jonas is perhaps best known as one third of the Jonas Brothers – an American pop rock band with close ties to the Disney Channel.

But he’s also a pretty solid actor.

On the big screen, Nick Jonas voiced a cherub in ‘Night at the Museum: Battle at the Smithsonian’… but American TV is where his skills have shone so far. He’s starred in TV movies ‘Camp Rock’ and ‘Camp Rock 2’ as well as landing a regular role on ‘Scream Queens’ and ‘Kingdom’.

But will he land the ‘Jumanji’ role?

“Busy with music commitments, closing Jonas’ deal is predicated on scheduling. But a studio franchise seems a smart next step in a career worth watching.”

Unfortunately, there’s no indication as to what Jonas’ role might be in the ‘Jumanji’ reboot… but presumably it will see the young actor heading into the midst of the creepy board game alongside Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart and Jack Black.

Or could he be playing a younger version of one of the main cast?

For now, we’ll have to wait and see…

But ‘Jumanji’ is turning out to be an interesting project.

‘Jumanji’ heads to cinemas on 28 July 2017.
