Upcoming movies being spoiled by their merchandise

Since people who love movies almost always need small plastic representations of their favourite movie characters, most major releases have pretty elaborate toy lines these days. Unfortunately, sometimes these toys reveal plot details that haven’t been divulged.

WARNING: The following contains spoilers!

5. “Jurassic World”

One of the most closely guarded secrets of the highly-anticipated “Jurassic World” is the new hybrid dinosaur: the Indominus Rex. So far the film’s trailers have specifically avoided any footage of the Indominus Rex, paving the way for a big, suspense-filled reveal in the movie.

If you want to totally spoil that reveal though, you can check what the Indominus Rex looks like right now! Hasbro unveiled its line of “Jurassic World” toys, including the formerly mysterious hybrid dino, which features an electronic roar, “colour-morphing” skin, and the ability to make your children resent you if you don’t buy it for them.

“Earth’s Mightiest Heroes” demand an extensive line of toys — we’ve already seen a whole slew of Avengers-related products that offer some pretty specific details about the upcoming “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” From Lego sets that give away plot-points to a line of Funko Pop! dolls that may offer a significant clue.

While it seems weird to be gleaning information about one of the biggest movies of the year from a company called “Funko,” their new Avengers line contains a grey Hulk, called “Savage Hulk” leading some to suspect that, at some point in Age of Ultron, The Hulk will transform into the character’s original grey colour.

3. “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”

A lot of people are theorizing that in the upcoming film, Batman will build a Kryptonite suit in order to take on Superman. Now, some are looking to a new line of Batman toys for clues, pointing to a Batman action figure in an armored green suit as a possible first glimpse of the Kryptonite Suit.

While the toy is cartoonish in appearance, and could be unrelated to this particular Batman project, the connection doesn’t seem far-fetched — unless unless it turns out to be St. Patrick’s Day Combat Batman.

2. “Ant-Man”

The first Lego superhero built to scale?! Ant-Man will be featured in some Lego products this summer. The appropriately spoiler-y set “Ant-Man Final Battle” features Ant-Man teaming up with Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man, played in the movie by Michael Douglas.

In everything we’ve been told about the movie so far, Pym has been positioned as the old, wizened mentor character whose primary purpose is to act as a mentor for Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang. If this Lego set is to be believed though, it seems like he will become Ant-Man again and kick some ass at the end of the movie— because the kids today love Michael Douglas so very much.

1. “Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens”

Sadly for J.J. Abrams, who loves secrets and mysteries so much doesn’t even seem to want the world know his first two names, an image of prototypes for the new line of Star Wars toys was leaked online by some nefarious toymakers.

While this normally wouldn’t be a huge deal, one of the figures in the image seems to be the mysterious Kylo Ren, a.k.a. the guy with the three-pronged lightsaber the internet was so fascinated by, and who we only got to see from behind. Hasbro has requested most images of the toys be pulled, but you can still find photos floating around online.
