Josh Charles Joins ‘Masters Of Sex’

Emmy-nominated Josh Charles, who recently wrapped his run as Will Gardner on The Good Wife, has booked a season-long arc on the third season of Showtime’s drama Masters Of Sex.

Set in 1966, Season 3 finds the famed duo of William Masters (Michael Sheen) and Johnson (Lizzy Caplan) dealing with the glare of the national spotlight as their sex study is finally unveiled. It’s the start of the Sexual Revolution — and Masters and Johnson’s work will have a profound impact on contemporary relationships, especially their own evolving three-way “marriage” with Masters’ wife Libby (Caitlin FitzGerald).

Charles will play Daniel Logan, a self-made businessman working in the scent industry. In an attempt to bottle the smell of sex and market an aphrodisiac to the general public, Dan seeks out Masters and Johnson’s expertise on desire. A charismatic salesman, Dan’s involvement with the duo becomes complicated.

Charles will next be seen Netflix comedy series Wet Hot American Summer. On the feature side, he is in production on Border Crossing for director Bette Gordon. He was recently seen in Pascale Ferran’s Bird People, which premiered at last year’s Cannes Film Festival. This year, he will be seen in Peter Sollett’s Freeheld; Oppenheimer Strategies, with Richard Gere; Fun House, starring Tina Fey; and in I Smile Back, opposite Sarah Silverman. Other TV credits include In Treatment, Sports Night, and Inside Amy Schumer.
