Daniel Craig's Benoit Blanc is sporting a new look in the third Knives Out movie!

On Monday, June 10, writer and director Rian Johnson shared a first look photo of Craig's character in the upcoming film in the franchise, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.

Alongside a black and white image showing detective Blanc with longer hair and wearing a suit, Johnson wrote, "Aaaaand we’re off! Today is day 1 of shooting on the next Benoit Blanc mystery 'Wake Up Dead Man' - see you on the other side."

The upcoming sequel, that was first announced in March 2021, follows the release of 2019's Knives Out and 2022's Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.

Last month, Netflix — who bought the rights to the two sequels in an alleged $400 million deal, as reported by PEOPLE in March 2021 — revealed that several new cast members would be joining Craig in the eagerly-anticipated third flick.

Actors including Kerry Washington, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Josh O'Connor, Glenn Close and Cailee Spaeny will be among those joining the cast.

Johnson confirmed the third film's title on May 24, 2024, with a teaser clip shared to X (formerly known as Twitter). A voiceover stated the upcoming movie would be Blanc’s “most dangerous case yet.”

Despite the Knives Out 3 plot being kept under wraps as of yet, some fans believe the second film includes an Easter egg about the storyline for the upcoming movie.

In one of the early scenes of the film, when everyone is surprised to see Detective Blanc at the dock, Claire Debella (Kathryn Hahn) asks, "Did you solve the murder of — oh — whatshername — the ballet dancer thing, that's you?"

Fans think this might be a hint that the third film could actually be a prequel about one of Blanc's earlier cases.

While speaking to Deadline in November 2022 about a possible fourth movie in the Knives Out franchise, Craig said, "I mean, if people are interested, then we’ll make them. But if there ever came a point where either Rian and I thought we were just churning them out, I think we would back away. I mean, I just don’t think that’s what either of us want to do in life. Unless people are getting genuine fun out of them, forget it.”

Knives Out 3 will hit Netflix in 2025.
