New 'Star Wars' Toys to Be Revealed on 'Force Friday' — Watch a Preview!

With Star Wars: The Force Awakens opening in theaters this December, a new generation of fans (and their nostalgic parents) will get to experience the joy of unboxing a brand new Stormtrooper toy, playing with a model X-Wing, and immediately losing a tiny lightsaber. So what new toys are on offer for Episode VII? We’ll all find out on September 4, a.k.a. “Force Friday,” when the new line of Star Wars toys will be revealed live on the Star Wars YouTube channel in a global “unboxing” event. The whole thing culminates at midnight, when select Star Wars toy and merchandise retailers will open their doors, and fans can open their wallets. The Force Awakens toy collection will be unveiled over the course of 18 hours in 14 cities and 12 countries, kicking off in Sydney, Australia and ending with a “grand finale” at Lucasfilm in San Francisco. Each location will feature the live reveal of a new Star Wars hero, villain, spaceship, or droid, so you can start loading up your Christmas list now. (Personally, we’re hoping the final reveal is a life-sized BB8.) Go here for a complete schedule, and while you’re waiting, check out some leaked toy images here.
