New Kristen Stewart Movie In Jeopardy After Distributor Goes Under

The UK release of the new Kristen Stewart movie ‘Personal Shopper’ is in doubt, following news that its distributor Metrodome has gone into administration.

Metrodome has laid off all staff, reports The Guardian, with some of its forthcoming slate of films being sold off to other distributors.

However, the fate of ‘Personal Shopper’, which premiered at Cannes and received rave reviews (as well as some rather less enthusiastic ones), along with another movie ‘A Quiet Passion’, starring Cynthia Nixon as the poet Emily Dickinson, are now uncertain.

The company was formed 12 years ago, releasing movies from a wealth of up-and-coming and art house talent from around the world.

It released the shoe-string budget debut feature from Ben Wheatley, the stunning ‘Down Terrace’, after which the director has gone from strength to strength with movies like ‘Kill List’, ‘A Field In England’ and recently ‘High Rise’.

Metrodome also gave UK releases to films by Lars Von Trier and Lukas Moodysson, and recently Taika Waititi’s excellent vampire spoof ‘What We Do In The Shadows’ and ‘Tangerine’, the acclaimed transgender comedy-drama shot on iPhones.

In 2010, it backed Argentinian drama ‘The Secret In Their Eyes, which went on to win the Oscar for best foreign language film at the Oscars.
