By now, you’ve surely seen the original bust created to honor international soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo at an airport bearing his name on his native island of Madeira off the coast of Portugal. It was essentially the Tom Brady courtroom sketch of sculptures, mocked and memed worldwide:

While artist Emanuel Santos defended his work, which made a man once named People magazine’s sexiest soccer player alive look more like Sloth from “Goonies,” by saying, “Not even Jesus pleased everyone,” one Spanish artist’s son was reportedly so upset he urged his father to create a better one.
Renowned Sevillian sculptor Jose Antonio Navarro Arteaga reportedly created this more accurate bust of the Real Madrid star at his son’s behest, unveiling it at the soccer club’s museum over the weekend:

The only criticism of this sculpture so far is whether or not he actually looks too handsome, which, if you’re Ronaldo, it’s hard to say how you should take that news. He’ll be glad to know the original bust is still proudly displayed at Cristiano Ronaldo International Airport, while this one will remain at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, so the conversation about his handsomeness can continue in perpetuity.
Both artists used photographs to capture Ronaldo’s essence. We’ll let you be the judge who won:
If we’re keeping score here, it’s: Spain 1, Portugal 0.
