The Nevers star Ann Skelly has revealed she "scared the bejesus out of everyone" while driving a stunt car on set.
The Irish actress plays Penance Adair in the HBO series, which follows a group of Victorian women with unusual abilities who find themselves caught up in a quest that could change the world forever.
Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, Ann detailed how she coped while driving her character's Victorian-era vehicle given that the actress hasn't passed a driving test – and it seems it didn't go too well.

Asked about her experience driving her car in the show, Ann told Digital Spy: "Well, here's the funny thing. I do not have a driver's licence!
"What would happen was, the stunt team would take me around in a golf cart and they'd get me to drive around a car park around the studio, and, you know, people would be jumping out of the way [laughs].
"No, I'm joking. But that was my test run, because they built the car from scratch, obviously, and it was electric. So I could drive it, but there were some scenes, for sure, that's going very fast, and there's people in the car, where they would get my stunt driver in – Jessica Hawkins – who's a Formula racer.
"I remember, one time, I got very frustrated, because I was like, 'I can reverse! It's fine. You don't need to tell me which way to go.' And I hit a curb, and scared the bejesus out of absolutely everyone!
"I love my little car. I feel like James Bond. And, yeah, I think it's really cool."
Outlander's Laura Donnelly and Poldark's Eleanor Tomlinson also star in the series alongside Olivia Williams, Nick Frost, James Norton, Tom Riley.
The Nevers airs Sundays on HBO in the US, and is available to stream on HBO Now and HBO Max. UK viewers can watch the show on Sky Atlantic and NOW from May 17.
