Netflix's New 'Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area' Trailer Is a Commentary on the Woes of Capitalism

Netflix is set to release Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area later this summer as a spin to its popular Spanish series Money Heist. In the months leading up to the debut, the streaming giant has released another teaser trailer, this time focusing on how the unification of both North and South Korea is looking to produce more conflict than expected.

The trailer gives audiences a glimpse of what the socio-political climate will look like after both nations' reunification leads to the production of a newly united currency for the joint economic area. The issues that surface point toward an unjust system that benefits only the rich. A group of criminals with nothing to lose find themselves banding together to pull off one of the biggest money heist missions in the familiar red jumpsuits from the original series. The Korean series will see Yoo Ji-tae, Jeon Jong-seo, Park Hae-soo, Lee Wong-jong, Park Myung-hoon, Kim Sung-o and more take the screens this coming June. The show's production was initially announced in December 2021.
