Netflix's 'The Crown,' 'Ozark' top TV nominations at Critics' Choice Awards

Netflix is leading the field at the 26th annual Critics’ Choice Awards.

The streaming service had the most nominations of any outlet this year (26, to HBO’s 24) when nominees were unveiled Monday by the Critics Choice Association.

Netflix’s “Ozark” and “The Crown” are up for six awards each, including best drama, while HBO’s “Lovecraft Country,” FX’s “Mrs. America” and “What We Do in the Shadows” and Pop TV’s “Schitt’s Creek” followed with five nods. AMC’s “Better Call Saul” and HBO’s “The Plot Against America” received four nominations apiece.

Film nominees will be announced on Feb. 8. Winners in both film and television are expected to be announced at the group’s March 7 awards show hosted by Taye Diggs on CW (7 p.m. ET/PT).

Hollywood’s traditional awards season has been delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic, which just in the last two weeks has seen the Grammy Awards pushed back to March 14 and the Screen Actors Guild Awards to April 4.

The Oscars are expected to close the season on April 25.
