In news possibly no one really needed (joking, kind of), Netflix just confirmed Tiger King season 2 is very much happening.

Tiger King might feel like it existed in a whole other life, but in reality, the Netflix original dropped in March 2020. And thanks to the world's fascination with the leopard print-wearing, gun-wielding, tiger-owning Joe Exotic, a second series is officially coming. Here's what you need to know.

Do we have a Tiger King season 2 trailer, yet?

Yes! In late-September 2021, Netflix released the trailer for Tiger King 2, revealing there was a lot more of the story to tell. We also join Joe Exotic in jail, where he's serving charges of murder for hire and animal abuse, and Doc Antle in a new interview.

They also dropped a second trailer in late-October 2021:

When was Tiger King season 2 confirmed?

In a press release on 23 September 2021, Netflix confirmed, "The global hit Tiger King, which attracted 64 million households in the first four weeks after its March 2020 premiere, will return to Netflix for more madness and mayhem."

Back in August 2020, The Sun claimed the new series was happening, with a report that announced Joe Exotic, 57, has agreed to take part in the series along with his husband Dillon Passage, 24, and businessman Jeff Lowe who took over the zoo in 2016.

Carole Baskin reportedly asked for a sum of 'around the £1million mark' to take part in the series, with the source adding, "Carole is asking for a seven-figure sum. She wants to plough it into her Florida sanctuary, Big Cat Rescue. Taking part in Tiger King opened up her private life and she wants to make sure it’s worth her while." It's since been rumoured that she won't be taking part.

What will happen in Tiger King series 2?

Considering Joe is in prison and the Oklahoma roadside zoo is somewhat in a state of disarray, you'd be forgiven for thinking there might not be enough to focus a second season on.

But many topics of the original documentary will be covered, such as how Joe Exotic's situation has developed and even Carole Baskin's missing ex-husband, Donald Lewis, as well as new ground.

It will also look into the U.S. Department of Justice's investigations into Jeff Lowe, the second owner of the Greater Wynewood Exotic Animal Park, and Doc Antle, the founder and director of The Institute for Greatly Endangered and Rare Species in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

What have the cast of Tiger King said about series 2?

Carole Baskin has made it clear she's not happy about the follow-up series, telling The Hollywood Reporter, "I don't know how they put out a Tiger King 2 when Joe Schreibvogel's [Exotic] in jail and I'm refusing to be played again.

"[They] said [they] wanted to 'clear the air' about what they did to me in Tiger King. I told [them] to lose my number. There is no explanation for such a betrayal and false portrayal."

In May, Jeff Lowe's lawyer encouraged fans to watch the second series, telling PEOPLE, "Jeff tells me to share with you to 'watch Tiger King 2 for the real story, not the story made up by a corrupt Department Of Justice.'"

When will Tiger King series 2 be released?

Netflix announced at their TUDUM event that the hit series will return on Wednesday 17th November, 2021. Not long to go!

Back at the beginning of lockdown, Netflix kept us entertained with the 10 part documentary focussing on the roadside zoo owned by Joe Exotic, who eventually went to prison on a murder-for-hire charge involving Carole Baskin.

Since then, we've had an official follow-up episode, a dramatisation confirmed and even had other wild cat crime documentaries announced. And now?
