Neighbours fans spot two versions of show's new opening titles

Neighbours debuted new opening titles in the show's return episodes this week, but two different versions have been created for the new season.

The iconic soap's comeback edition on Monday (September 18) launched without the famous title sequence, but it has featured at the start of every episode since then.

Eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice that viewers in the UK and Australia are getting slightly different versions of the title sequence.

Amazon Freevee's opening shows the new Varga-Murphy family enjoying a boat ride together on a day out, while the Channel 10 version for Australian audiences sees the clan hanging out closer to home at The 82 bar and diner.

Another difference shows Sam Young and Jane Harris sitting near Lassiters Lake on Freevee's opening, while they appear outside Harold's Café on the Australian version.

While the rest of the shots are the same, they do appear in a different order on the two versions. Additionally, the Australian opening features tighter close-up shots of the cast.

Neighbours bosses told Digital Spy that it was a deliberate choice to create two versions for the different markets.

Executive producer Jason Herbison told us: "We have always made slightly different versions of the show for Australian and overseas markets.

"You will see further updates from time to time and we hope such differences are a fun curio for the fans."

Neighbours has now aired the first four episodes of the revival season, exploring life for the Ramsay Street residents two years on from the events of the July 2022 finale.

The new season continues next week, with episodes being released daily between Mondays and Thursdays.

Neighbours releases new episodes from Mondays to Thursdays for free on Amazon Freevee in the UK and US. In Australia, the show airs from Mondays to Thursdays at 4.30pm on Channel 10, with a 6.30pm repeat screening on 10 Peach.
