Neighbours spoilers follow from Wednesday's episode (November 29).
Neighbours aired a new twist for the Sinclair family in Wednesday's episode with news that family patriarch Conrad has passed away.
Lassiters investor Conrad has never appeared physically in the show but has been regularly mentioned on screen during the recent hotel dramas.
Last week, Reece Sinclair – played by The OC star Mischa Barton – flew home to the US following the worrying news that Conrad had suffered a stroke.
In Wednesday's episode, Chloe Brennan shared the news that Conrad had passed away.
She discovered the sad update when she spoke to Reece over the phone and soon found herself drawn into a risky plan to conceal the news from Conrad's other daughter, Krista.
Chloe told Paul Robinson: "I just spoke with Reece. Her father died a few hours ago. She asked if we could keep it quiet.
"She knows that it will get out – she mainly wants us to keep it quiet from Krista. I promised Reece we would do this."
Krista is a new regular for Neighbours, who made her first appearance in the recent Flashback Week. She's currently staying at Lassiters as she tries to overcome a serious drug addiction and recover from pneumonia.
The latest episode saw Byron Stone and Leo Tanaka seek help from former doctor David Tanaka, who now lives out of town, as they tried to support Krista.
Clearly enjoying the opportunity to help someone again, David managed to set Krista on a path for safe withdrawal.
Sadly, this was jeopardised when Holly Hoyland mistakenly shared the news of Conrad's death with Krista, who immediately disappeared from her Lassiters hotel room and sparked concerns for her recovery.
Meanwhile, Byron felt unsettled that his girlfriend Reece had chosen to update Chloe on Conrad's death rather than him. Are the cracks already showing in their long-distance relationship?
Neighbours releases new episodes from Mondays to Thursdays for free on Amazon Freevee in the UK and US. In Australia, the show airs from Mondays to Thursdays at 4pm on Channel 10, with a 6.30pm repeat screening on 10 Peach.
