Neighbours confirms why Freya is really in Erinsborough

Neighbours spoilers follow from Monday's episode in the UK (January 24), which some Australian viewers may prefer to avoid.

Neighbours has confirmed that new character Freya Wozniak is searching for a mystery man.

Freya (Phoebe Roberts) joined Erinsborough last week and immediately sparked speculation from fans with her strange behaviour – including stealing a scarf from the destroyed site of the Flamingo Bar.

Viewers also saw the new arrival stare thoughtfully at a mystery man on her phone, adding another new clue into the mix.

Monday's episode on Channel 5 confirmed that this unknown individual is the reason why Freya has come to Erinsborough in the first place.

The latest visit to Ramsay Street saw Freya enjoy a date with Levi Canning (Richie Morris) after his meddling grandmother Sheila (Colette Mann) set them up together.

The pair headed to the vineyard together and were clearly enjoying each other's company as the atmosphere turned flirtatious.

However, Freya's hidden agenda came into play when she seized an opportunity to look through pictures of Kyle Canning and Roxy Willis's wedding on Levi's phone.

Freya was intrigued to see that, on the night of the storm disaster, Ned was wearing the scarf that she later retrieved from the wreckage.

When Freya later quizzed Ned about the scarf, he admitted that he found it in the complex and picked it up while drunk.

Freya showed him a picture of the man on her phone, asking whether Ned has ever seen him.

Freya claimed: "He's my cousin. We lost contact a while back, but I think he may be in the area."

Ned replied: "I'm pretty good with faces. Never seen him before."
