It had been too long since Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh got out of control on a football field.
Thursday night’s 40-0 Dolphins loss was ripe for it. Suh took out Baltimore Ravens offensive lineman Ryan Jensen after Dolphins linebacker Kiko Alonso’s cheap and dirty hit on Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco, but Suh was just getting started.
In the fourth quarter with the Dolphins trailing 26-0, Suh jumped offsides. Perhaps figuring Alonso would have the night’s dirtiest play no matter what he did, Suh hit Flacco’s replacement Ryan Mallett for no reason. It wasn’t a full-speed tackle, but he hit him when he didn’t have to. When Mallett got upset and confronted Suh, Suh grabbed Mallett’s throat and then pushed him away.

Meanwhile, Dolphins defensive end William Hayes was trying to out-do Alonso for the most deplorable action of the night, as he poked Ravens offensive lineman Austin Howard in the eye right after Suh and Mallett had their exchange.
Nice team you have there, Adam Gase.
Of course, these were the unprofessional and disturbing things the Dolphins did after plays. They were a different kind of horrendous during the actual football action. Miami was awful without quarterback Jay Cutler, as Matt Moore struggled to get anything going. The Dolphins were never competitive. Moore threw two pick-sixes in the fourth quarter. The Dolphins have been unwatchable most of the season, but are somehow still 4-3.
The Dolphins weren’t happy with how things were going, so they decided to see which player could get fined the most from various dirty actions. The NFL is going to get quite the contribution from Miami when it hands out fines.
