NC Basketball Coaches Association all-state teams announced

Fourteen high school basketball players in the Charlotte Observer and News & Observer of Raleigh’s coverage areas were named to the N.C. Basketball Coaches all-state teams. Two area coaches were named statewide coaches of the year.

The teams were voted on by members of the association, which include only public school teams. Private school all-state teams are available at this link.

Eight boys from the coverage zones were named all-state: North Meck’s Isaiah Evans, Northwood’s Drake Powell and Seaforth’s Jarin Stevenson made first team.

Myers Park’s Sir Mohammed, Elijah Strong and Central Cabarrus’ Jaiden Thompson made second team.

Southern Durham’s Jackson Keith and Holly Springs’ Collin Kuhl made third team. Central Cabarrus coach Jim Baker was named N.C. coach of the year.

Six area girls made all-state: Panther Creek’s Taylor Barner, Millbrook’s Reychel Douglas and Charlotte Catholic’s Blanca Thomas made first team.

North Meck’s Nevaeh Farmer and Panther Creek’s Madisyn Jordan made second team. And Lake Norman’s Kirsten Lewis-Williams made third team all-state despite being named third team all-district earlier this month after leading her team to a national ranking and an appearance in the N.C. 4A state championship game.

Panther Creek coach Danielle Sullivan was named girls coach of the year.
