The Covid-19 pandemic has forced many households to switch up their traditions this Thanksgiving Day, but one staple remains: the National Dog Show.

This year’s contest was held on 14 and 15 November in Oaks, Pennsylvania, at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Centre.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the show was held without spectators, sponsors, vendors, or media, according to NBC Sports. Social distancing and other safety guidelines were in place, including mask wearing and temperature checks.

The event was taped and is now ready to air on Thanksgiving Day following the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Here is everything you need to know about this year’s National Dog Show:

The National Dog Show will air on NBC on Thanksgiving day, from 12pm to 2pm local time.

The event is also available to stream online and on the NBC Sports app.

As always, the programme will include group categories and will see one dog crowned Best in Show.

This year, the number of canine contestants was capped to 600 – a significant decrease compared to the usual 2,000.
