NASCAR at Darlington live updates: Justin Allgaier wins Xfinity race in overtime shootout

Note: Live updates for this race are complete. Check back tomorrow for live coverage of the Cup Series race from Darlington, the Goodyear 400, at 3:30 p.m. on FS1.

The NASCAR Xfinity race at Darlington Raceway is today. The Steakhouse Elite 200 race starts at 1 p.m. on FS1.

The race is 147 laps (200.1 miles) with stages ending on laps 45, 90 and 147. All times are Eastern.

Final Stage

3:19 p.m., Lap 148: Justin Allgaier takes the outside lane on the final restart and leads the two-lap shootout to win his second race of the season. Allgaier won earlier this year at Atlanta. His JR Motorsports teammate Josh Berry finished in second with another JRM teammate, Gragson, finishing in fourth to win his third $100,000 Dash 4 Cash prize.

Austin Cindric, also in the Dash 4 Cash competition, wrecked in the final lap and finished 30th after leading 34 laps in the race and winning the first stage. The Dash 4 Cash drivers next week at Dover will be Justin Allgaier, Josh Berry, Brandon Jones and Noah Gragson.

3:13 p.m., Lap 144: Pit strategies split with Harrison Burton in 18th being the first to pit, while the race leaders stay out. Update: Burton finishes 11th, but isn’t able to catch up to the leaders on the older tires in two laps.

3:08 p.m., Lap 136: Another caution is out! This time it’s Ryan Vargas, who went for a spin further back in the pack. Justin Allgaier takes the lead off a good launch before the flag comes out, but Berry will get another chance.

3:05 p.m., Lap 134: Josh Berry leads on the restart and when the caution comes back out for the Joe Graf Jr. in Turns 3 and 4. Justin Allgaier, Harrison Burton and Noah Gragson and Brandon Jones are in the top-five.

2:56 p.m., Lap 127: The caution comes out for Gray Gaulding, who was spun by Joe Graf Jr. The two drivers had an earlier run-in at Martinsville, but Gaulding’s radio says they don’t believe the contact was intentional. Under caution, the leaders pit and Ty Gibbs gets a speeding penalty to send him to the back. This is his second speeding penalty of the race.

2:48 p.m., Lap 117: With under 30 to go, the running order is Noah Gragson, Harrison Burton, Josh Berry, Ty Gibbs and Justin Allgaier. A

2:44 p.m., Lap 108: Bayley Currey makes a big save after wiggling with around 40 laps to go. Ty Gibbs is up to the top-five after finishing the last stage out of the top-10 and recovering from the earlier speeding penalty around Lap 60.

2:38 p.m., Lap 99: Harrison Burton lines up on the outside, Noah Gragson on the inside. Gragson has a good restart and jumps to first place, but Burton is only about 0.18 seconds behind him.

Stage 2

2:26 p.m., Lap 90: Harrison Burton gets his first stage win of the season. He passes A.J. Allmendinger driving low, with Allmendinger near the wall, and is able to clear him before moving by a lapped car. Noah Gragson finishes second in the stage ahead of A.J. Allmendinger, Josh Berry, Ryan Sieg, Jeb Burton, Michael Annett, Justin Allgaier, Austin Cindric and Brett Moffitt, most of whom took tires at the last caution.

2:20 p.m., Lap 85: Daniel Hemric, who led 38 laps, pits from the lead for his left rear tire going down with under 10 laps in the stage to go. A.J. Allmendinger will get the lead. 1. Off the restart, Brandon Jones has a massive save. He makes some contact with Ty Gibbs, who gets into the back of his car. Update: Jones finishes the stage in 15th, Gibbs in 14th. Hemric in 30th, all for JGR.

2:15 p.m., Lap 82: Daniel Hemric continues to lead, but A.J. Allmendinger is in second place when the caution comes out for Jessie Little spinning after contact with another car in the bottom-20. Allmendinger is reporting he’s lose,

2:10 p.m., Lap 70: Trouble for Tommy Joe Martins! He goes into the wall with a blown tire, then comes to pit road under green. Martins rejoins the field two laps down and as the lucky dog. He’s told that the race hinges on him blowing by the leaders. “Nice and smooth. You can drive us back into this thing,” the No. 44 radio says.

2:06 p.m., Lap 63: Ty Gibbs, who received a speeding penalty earlier, has cut through the field and is up to 18th place after restarting at the back. Daniel Hemric continues to lead Noah Gragson.

2 p.m., Lap 51: Daniel Hemric gets off pit road quickly and takes the lead for the restart. Noah Gragson, in second, lines up on the the inside. Hemric is able to maintain the lead on the restart and is up by a second over Gragson after the laps following the restart. A.J. Allmendinger, Austin Cindric and Brandon Jones follow, in that order. Ty Gibbs gets a speeding penalty while on pit road, as does Riley Herbst for removing equipment.

Stage 1

1:51 p.m., Lap 45: Austin Cindric snags his fifth stage win of the season after taking the lead on the last restart. He finishes ahead of Noah Gragson, Harrison Burton, Daniel Hemric, Tommy Joe Martins, A.J. Allmendinger, Myatt Snider, Justin Allgier, Ty Gibbs, and Michael Annett for stage points. Martins is a man on the move at the end of the stage, passing Allmendinger before the flag.

1:34 p.m., Lap 25: Austin Cindric takes the inside line after the restart, and gets the lead from Noah Gragson when the race goes green. The running order is Cindric, Gragson, A.J. Allmendinger, Harrison Burton, Daniel Hemric and Myatt Snider.

1:31 p.m., Lap 18: Noah Gragson jumps to the lead just before the competition and leads Austin Cindric in second place at the flag. ”Noah’s, uh, interesting,” Cindric says after commenting on how the No. 9 was “parking the entry” on earlier laps.

1:24 p.m., Lap 13: Another caution flag is out for the No. 26 of Brandon Gdovic. Teams report there is debris on the track after Gdovic gets a flat tire and goes into the wall running in the back of the pack.

1:20 p.m., Lap 5: The caution is out after a few laps for an incident involving J.J. Yeley and Brandon Gdovic on the backstretch. Last night’s Truck Series race saw 12 cautions for 66 laps, the most in a Truck Series race at Darlington, so teams are aiming to avoid the wreckfest they saw yesterday. Austin Cindric leads after the restart.

Pre-race

1:12 p.m.: “Pretty rare that you get a chance to do something that this car hasn’t done,” Austin Cindric is told on his radio. The driver is starting in the front row and in the Dash 4 Cash race, which also includes Noah Gragson, A.J. Allmendinger and Jeff Burton. The highest finisher of those four drivers will win a $100,000 prize.

1:05 p.m.: Engines have been fired at the track “Too Tough to Tame.” A.J. Allmendinger, Justin Allgaier and Noah Gragson receive the loudest cheers among active full-time drivers during introductions, but the real loudest cheers at the track come for Dale Earnhardt Jr. pacing the field ahead of the green flag in the restored No. 8. His sister, Kelley Earnhardt Miller tweeted that her brother “put his heart and soul into my dads #8 that paced the field at Darlington today.”

“He has been excited about this moment and sharing it with NAsCAR fans,” she wrote. “Well done @DaleJr and all the people at @JRMotorsports who had a hand over the last two years on this project.”

12:40 p.m.: Driver introductions are starting up at Darlington Raceway under clear skies. The national anthem is coming up at 12:55 p.m., followed by the command to fire engines at 1:02 p.m. and the green flag at 1:12 p.m. Dale Earnhardt Jr. will drive his father’s restored No. 8 Chevrolet Nova for parade laps. The late Dale Earnhardt Sr. was a three-time Darlington winner in the series, and twice won in a GM Goodwrench-sponsored No. 8 at Darlington.
