Yahoo Movies Naomi Campbell has welcomed a baby girl
Naomi Campbell has become a mother for the first time, welcoming a baby girl into the world, she confirmed today.
The supermodel shared a lovely image of the baby's feet in her hand to Instagram with a beautiful caption, confirming that she was now mother to a baby girl. She chose to keep the name private for the moment.
"A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother," she wrote. "So honoured to have this gentle soul in my life there are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you my angel. There is no greater love."
Her fans and followers flooded the post with messages of congratulations and love, including from her famous friends Marc Jacobs, Zoe Saldana and Erin O'Connor.
The model has spoken openly about her desire to have children in the past, telling The Evening Standard just a few years ago that she was grateful for the advances in science which have made it possible for women to have children later in life.
"I think about having children all the time," she said. "But now with the way science is I think I can do it when I want."
Campbell did not publicly announce that the baby was on the way, making the news a surprise for many.
