Brentford have raided west London rivals Chelsea for the signing of Myles Peart-Harris.

The teenage midfielder, an England Under-19 international, has moved for an undisclosed fee and signed a four-year deal - including the option for a further 12 months - with Thomas Frank’s newly-promoted side, who are gearing up for their maiden season in the Premier League.

Peart-Harris’ arrival comes during a busy week on the transfer front for Championship play-off winners Brentford, who broke their transfer record on Wednesday to sign Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer for £13.5million.

Earlier this week, the Bees also completed an £8.5m deal for midfielder Frank Onyeka from Danish club FC Midtjylland.

The trio represent Brentford’s first signings as a Premier League outfit.

Meanwhile, Peart-Harris is the latest youngster to depart Chelsea, having entered the final 12 months of his contract at Stamford Bridge.

On Thursday, Lewis Bate left for Leeds in a £1.5m deal, while fellow academy star Valentino Livramento has been heavily linked with a move to Brighton.

Peart-Harris never made a senior appearance for Chelsea, though did score seven goals in 13 appearances in Premier League Two last season as well as representing the Blues’ Under-21s in the Papa John’s Trophy.

“Myles is a very talented young player and an exciting signing for us. We see him playing as an ‘eight’ in our system and he fits the position profile perfectly for that. He is a dynamic midfield player, and he drives forward with the ball,” said Brentford boss Frank, whose team open their first top-flight campaign since 1947 at home against Arsenal on August 13.

“Myles has great quality on the ball. He can score goals and deliver assists for us. He is great at arriving in the penalty area at the right time. There is also lots of development potential for our coaches to work with.

“We think there will be lots of areas where he will get better, particularly defensively, but he has some great attributes, and we believe we can maximise his potential.”
