Murder mystery weekend, new business to serve drinks and concerts coming near Bellingham

Murder mystery weekend event

Semiahmoo Resort will host a murder mystery weekend event Friday-Sunday, Feb. 24-26, that will give participants a weekend of “clues, twists, and turns, and a lot of action” as they try to solve a murder among other guests.

The weekend packages include two tickets to the three-day event, a hotel room for two nights, and meals from Friday night through Sunday morning. Package costs depend on the hotel room, from $499 to $638 per person. Reservations can be made online or by calling 855-917-3767.

Massage studio opens

Elements Massage, a massage chain planned to open in Bellingham on Saturday, Jan. 28, according to a news release from the studio’s owner, Donna Ickman. The studio will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Massages can be booked online or by calling 360-882-8244, and the studio is at 318 36th St.

Theater to start serving alcohol

The New Prospect Theatre in Bellingham has filed for a state liquor license with plans to serve wine and ciders at shows and events, according to an email from the theater. The application for the license still needs to be approved. The New Prospect Theatre is at 207 Prospect St.

Concerts coming to Vancouver

Some of the biggest names in music are coming to Rogers Arena, a 90-minute drive from Bellingham. Artists including Madonna, Sam Smith, Thomas Rhett and Shania Twain have tickets on sale now for their shows.

Sounders World Cup Party

Menace Brewing Co. is opening the brewery at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 4 for Seattle Sounders fans to watch the team play in the FIFA Club World Cup.

The brewery’s normal hours are from noon to 10 p.m. daily and is at 2529 Meridian St., Bellingham.

Old World Deli available nationwide

The Old World Deli announced it is now able to ship its store items nationwide, expanding its reach outside of Bellingham. The deli’s grocery goods, such as wine, coffee, syrups, chocolates and other products, are available online from its shop.
