Multiple Fatalities and Injuries as Migrants Rush Fence at Spain-Morocco Border

At least 18 people died and dozens injured as migrants rushed to cross the Spain-Morocco border in Melilla on Friday, June 24, according to local news reports.

Almost 2,000 migrants attempted to cross the border on Friday, local news reported, citing local officials. 500 successfully entered the Spanish autonomous city located in north Africa, official said.

49 Spanish Civil Guard agents were injured in the incident, El Faro de Ceuta reported.
