New Orleans Saints TE Foster Moreau announces cancer is in remission

New Orleans Saints tight end Foster Moreau shared good news with fans on Monday: that his cancer is in remission.

"After a few tumultuous months, I’ve been blessed with the news that I am in full remission from Hodgkin Lymphoma!" he posted on Twitter. "I’m so grateful to everyone who reached out to offer their love and support; our prayers were answered. From here I will continue to live my life as God intended."

He signed the message "AMDG," which stands for "Ad maiorem Dei gloriam," the Jesuit motto meaning "For the greater glory of God."

Moreau was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma, a cancer that affects certain white blood cells and the immune system, after a Saints physician found an enlarged lymph node in March during a free agent physical. Moreau initially said he was going to put his football career on hold as he navigated his health.

Upon finishing treatment, he reportedly signed a a three-year, $12 million deal with his hometown team in May and participated in OTAs.

Moreau spent the first four years of his NFL career with the Oakland — now Las Vegas — Raiders after being drafted in 2019 out of LSU. He had his career-best season last year when he started 14 games and played in 15, racking up 33 receptions for 420 yards and two touchdowns. He spent much of his career behind Darren Waller, who was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2020.

In New Orleans, Moreau reunites with former Raiders quarterback Derek Carr.
