Jamie Lee Curtis vs. Fiji Water Girl Is the Feud You Didn't Know You Wanted

From ELLE

For an awards ceremony that celebrates all the successful movie and TV shows from the past year, the 2019 Golden Globe awards sure had a lot of drama. First, there was the Chrissy Metz vs. Alison Brie fracas, in which fans were convinced Metz called Brie a "bitch." Now, Jamie Lee Curtis is calling out Fiji Water and Moet -- both official advertisers of the award ceremony -- for the promotional stunts the companies pulled on the Golden Globes red carpet.

In the midst of all the drama unfolding on Sunday night, the hashtag #FijiWaterGirl began to trend, as viewers noticed a woman, who has been identified as Kelleth Cuthbert, in a royal blue dress strategically standing behind the night's biggest stars.

Jamie Lee Curtis was also a victim of #FijiWaterGirl, and took to Instagram to call out companies for doing promotional stunts without seeking permission first.

"So, my husband, who doesn’t look at a lot of show business news sites, just mentioned that I was on the CNN website. I specifically moved away from the blatant promotions by Fiji and Moet where young women with their trays filled with their wares stood near a designated camera," she wrote on Instagram, adding that she made it clear to the Golden Globes photographer that she didn't want to be a part of the promotion.

"Clearly this angle shows that I moved from her being behind me and yet from the side it still happens," she continued. "The sponsors of events need to get permission from people when they get them to take their picture next to products."

Naturally, Cuthbert gained a legion of fans following her Fiji Water debut and spoke toGlamour about her newfound fame.

"I definitely think I’m ready for [the fame], but such is the nature of the Internet that these things just go by in a flash," she told Glamour. "No one will find this funny in a week. We’ll see!"
