More severe weather forecast for Dallas-Fort Worth and North Texas on Thursday, Friday

A threat of severe weather will return to the North Texas forecast on Thursday and Friday, according to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.

Madi Gordon, a NWS meteorologist, said severe weather Thursday is expected to be north and west of Dallas-Fort Worth, but there is a chance the Metroplex could see some storms late in the day. According to Gordon, the primary threat for Thursday is hail.

“Friday’s the better chance (for storms),” Gordon said.

A cold front moving through the area Friday could bring damaging winds and hail, according to Gordon. The area most likely to see storms Friday morning through early afternoon is along and north of Interstate 20. Storms along and east of the Interstate 35 corridor, including Dallas-Fort Worth, are possible in the late afternoon and evening, Gordon said.

High temperatures on Saturday will be in the 70s, according to the NWS, but are expected to be in the 80s on Sunday.
