More than 370 new pairs of shoes will be given away to students at North Texas school

Operation Warm, a national nonprofit that manufactures coats and shoes for children in need, is partnering with FedEx to provide hundreds of new shoes for Irving children.

On Thursday from 9-11 a.m., FedEx volunteers and Operation Warm staff will provide more than 370 new pairs of shoes to students at John Haley Elementary, located at 1100 Schulze Drive.

Operation Warm shoes are machine washable, come in 12 sizes, are available in six colors, have durable soles and have Velcro for toddlers and laces for older kids.

The collaboration is part of the FedEx 50 Days of Caring initiative. Throughout March and April, FedEx and Operation Warm will deliver more than 8,400 pairs of shoes to 28 schools in 21 cities in the U.S., six in Canada and one in Puerto Rico.

FedEx has teamed up with Operation Warm since 2008, most recently from November through January to provide 18,000 coats to 28 schools across the U.S. and Canada.
