Monday’s HS Rewind: Union Academy pitcher Gracie Hollingsworth gets milestone strikeout

Lake Norman Charter junior goalie Aubrey Hamm had 10 saves in Monday’s 17-8 girls lacrosse win over Butler at home.

Lake Norman Charter freshman midfielder Brielle Mongillo controlled seven draws, fielded seven ground balls and scored twice.. Lake Norman Charter (6-3) won its second straight game. Ava Purser had two goals for the Knights and senior Sofia Blasucci had her first career goal.

Garrett Brucke, Union Academy baseball: seven strikeouts in a 10-0 win over Gray Stone Day.

Chase Ghantt, North Gaston baseball: junior pitcher allowed one earned run and struck out nine in a 6-2 win over Stuart Cramer.

Grace Hollingsworth, Union Academy softball: pitcher got her 500th career strikeout in a 8-1 win over Union Academy.

Gavin McElhinny, Corvian Community baseball: 3-for-5 hitting with three RBIS, a double and three runs scored in a 16-10 win over North Mecklenburg. The teams combined for 20 hits.

Kendall Middleton, Butler girls lacrosse: had five goals against Lake Norman Charter. For the season, she’s got 10 goals, 10 assists and 50 ground balls. Her ground balls rank No. 19 nationally and No. 4 in North Carolina.

Baseball

East Lincoln 15, Lincolnton 1: Caden Smith had a sacrifice fly to drive in Karson Cloninger for Lincolnton’s only run. Lincoln play at East Burke Tuesday.

North Gaston 3, Stuart Cramer 0: North Gaston freshman Carter Mason and senior Trey Walker had two RBIs each in a 6-2 win over Stuart Cramer.

Union Academy 10, Gray Stone Day 0: sophomore Jeremiah Stone was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a double in the easy win. Junior Cody Stewart and freshman Zamarion Shine each scored twice.
