Reduce crime by supporting law and order. Improve public education by increasing school choice and parent involvement. Reduce homelessness directly by collaborating with non-government agencies who are already being successful and indirectly by improving the economy through reduced regulation and lower taxes.

At a time when costs are rising, state government has a surplus. How should it be used?

We need to wait on using our surplus until we see how the economy is going to impact the budget.

Will you vote for Medicaid expansion in North Carolina?

Undecided.

What has the legislature gotten right, and what has it gotten wrong, about public education in North Carolina?

Support for charter schools has been beneficial. The election process for school board members should be standardized.

Should North Carolina change its abortion laws? How?

Undecided.

Please add anything else voters should know about your position on the legality or availability of abortion in North Carolina.

We need to allow for public debate and input on this issue so that people can be heard and represented.

Should medical marijuana be legalized in North Carolina?

Yes.

What, if anything, should the legislature do to shape curriculum dealing with topics of race, sexuality and gender?

We should teach the constitution and bill of rights and facts about history and biology. Values about sexuality and gender should remain with parents, caregivers and families.

Yes.
