Key Stats

St Louis City are only the third team in MLS history to win their first five games. No team has ever kicked off the season with six straight victories. St Louis City have scored 15 goals, making them the league's highest scorers. Minnesota have won their first two away games for the first time in their history. They have only won three away games in a row on one previous occasion.

Team News

Both teams have a pretty clean bill of health. Emmanuel Reynoso remains on suspension and it seems unlikely he'll feature for Minnesota again.

St Louis clearly haven't read the script. Brand new MLS teams are meant to serve as a punching bag for everyone else, but instead, City have set multiple records. The newcomers have won their first five MLS games, a feat no expansion side has ever achieved. They're just the third side in history to win their first five games, and in doing so they've also managed the highest-ever goal tally by a new team in their first five games with 15. Minnesota have begun the season with back-to-back wins on the road. They might not be the happiest travellers in MLS, having won 24 of their 108 games away from home, but they have avoided defeat in more than 50 per cent of games since the end of the first season. Minnesota are compact in the middle, allowing them to create as much as possible from wide areas. They present a different challenge to the sides that St Louis have faced so far, and they'll be harder to break down in transition. A victory in Dallas is always hard earned, and the 2-1 win over Colorado was a statement result. Only three other sides have won in Colorado since the summer of 2018. The bookmakers and bettors are probably oversold on St Louis at the moment. Winning their first five games was improbable enough, and would have paid out at over 300/1. Winning six would truly be history-making, but probability still suggests they'll come crashing back down to earth soon.
