Yahoo Movies MLB suspends Pittsburgh Pirates' Rodolfo Castro over viral cell phone mishap
Pittsburgh Pirates infielder Rodolfo Castro has been suspended one game by Major League Baseball after a cell phone he was carrying in his pocket popped out on a headfirst slide during a game last week.
Castro was also fined an undisclosed amount for violating MLB's electronic device policy.
He was scheduled to serve his suspension Tuesday night when the Pirates play the Arizona Diamondbacks, but he has chosen to appeal the decision.

“You stay around the game and you see things you haven’t seen before,” Pirates manager Derek Shelton said after the incident. “This was just a kid who made a mistake. It’s just one of those things we move forward from and tell him, ‘You can’t do that.’”
