PREDICTION

Following a momentous win like the one Texas A&M just had to knock off top-ranked Alabama, college teams tend to do one of two things: Use the confidence boost to their advantage and keep things rolling at a high rate, or they get caught up in it and come out flat.

Either way, Mizzou winning this game doesn’t seem likely.

In their two losses, the Aggies only scored 10 and 22 points. Arkansas and Mississippi State didn’t put up crazy numbers in those games, but they got the job done on the defensive end and held Texas A&M to under 300 total yards.

Based on what we’ve seen from the Tigers so far, there’s little chance they could do the same defensively. They have yet to hold an opponent to less than 24 points and 373 yards — and that includes games against Central Michigan, Southeast Missouri State and North Texas. Factor in that Aggies running back Isaiah Spiller has had three games with over 100 rushing yards this year and those chances look even slimmer.

With its defense as a big liability until proven otherwise, for Mizzou to have a shot at pulling off the upset, it’ll need to find a way to get past a solid Texas A&M defense, which is arguably the best it’s faced all season.

The number of players that popped up on the injury report this week is also concerning. A fair share of those names weren’t brought up previously and the team didn’t provide any further information, so it’s really hard to say how serious those are and how much they might impact the game. That’ll be something to watch.
